Why Doesn't God Stop It?

This book is an exploration of those possibilities.

Together we will examine the greatest explanations Christians have offered throughout history. We will explore the writings of Augustine, the insights of Luther, the doctrines of sovereignty and free will, and the biblical story of humanity's fall into sin.

But more importantly, we will look at the one event that stands at the center of Christianity—the cross of Jesus Christ.

Because Christianity does not claim that God remained distant from suffering.

It claims something far more astonishing.

It claims that God entered suffering.

The Christian message is not merely that God has an answer for pain. It is that God personally stepped into our pain. He experienced rejection, betrayal, injustice, torture, humiliation, and death. The Creator entered His broken creation and bore its suffering upon Himself.
